My friend John has an 88 CRX Si fully gutted with a 200.8 HP type R motor and tranny.
he runs a consistent 12.4 with slicks.
high 1.6 60 foot time.

I'm hoping to hit high 12s with LS/VTEC: ITR oversized pistons, done head with Skunk2 Stage II cams and all the goodies tuned.

I seriously hope that your hf should run 12's. B18C5-EH2 in the eg forum ran a 13.3 @101 mph with a 2.0 60' time. He has a 92 cx that weighs 2000 lbs gutted with a type r motor. They say every hundred pounds takes off a tenth of a second.

ugh.... cx's have a wheel base advantage and can hook up alot better if driven right. I love my crx to death but, pound for pound, If a 92-95 hatch weighed the same as a crx and had the same engines, the civic would have the advantage.

Not so sure about that!
I guess it's a matter of opinion. I have seen EG's at the track that converted to radious rods (EG's don't have them) which are standard on the CRX.
Z10 I believe makes the convertion for Eg's. So, you also have double wishbone suspention on all four wheels, same as EG. the big advantage for EGs is the transmision options, you get more ratios to pick from (Si, GSR, LS, R, CTR etc)
and the trannies themselves are beefier. I also like the bigger engine bay on the Eg's but if you are crafty enough, even the H22A can be put on the CRX, I've seen it done.
I like the look of the EG a lot, but there is something about the CRX that's very endearing!

oh i completely aggree. Im a crx lover at heart. I traded my white 92 CX for an 88 CRX Si. This crx hauls freaking ***. We race every weekend and.. well.. actually, no.. i wont waist my breath telling that story because im sure it will get shot down. Its amazing how closed minded these people are about DOHC. Im sorry but I think its hillarious when I pop my hood after beating anything dohc powered. There always like .. I live near charlotte if anyone wants to be converted to a SOHC fan again. just pm me, I will let you drive my hoop ride. ..
anyways, back to teh topic, gear ratios are not an advantage of egs thats just the advantage of the gsr/type r.. lol those trannies can be mated to a dohc in a civic or a crx..
im out
