first post...problem w/ 89 crx si
i recently bought a 89 crx si from a guy. the car runs stong and gets great gas mileage. but my concern is that it sometimes smokes heavily. like a light grey smoke. it also burns oil. the other day i was checkin my fluids(oil, makin sure water was in the rad. reservoir,etc...) and i noticed some black stuff was in my reservoir. maybe oil? what could be the problem?

Now man why would you tell this guy to rebuild his motor if it has more than 130K miles on it.The hatch I have now is my third EF and is the only one that had less than 200K on it when I bought it,and had no major mechanical problems with the other 2 before this.It all depends on how the car has been taken care of.

Re: (tankscrx)
probably a blown or ever a cracked head gasket if its not that bad maybe one of the passageways are cracked therefor letting coolant in the oil, vise versa check it out man, do an oil change and check for water/ cooolant in the oil or do a rad flush and check for the opposite! GL
