What is it supposed to help with, just keeping your hand closer to the wheel after shifts?

Edit - I read the link and they have some really good points. I will keep this in mind when it comes to do something with the stock shifter.

Pretty much . . . you don't have to reach as far, and you spend more time with both hands on the steering wheel. It also keeps you from riding around like a stunna with one hand on the shifter

The **** is right there next to the wheel; the shifter comes in two pieces, so you can twist it as close or as far away from the wheel as you want. When I had it twisted all the way to the left, the **** would actually hit the wheel (350mm Momo).

The throws are comparable to the OEM shifter. The feel is smoother and more crisp though due to the heavy counterweight.

ive always wanted one of those, but i wasnt sure about how much throw there would be. i imagine it would feel a little better than my cut and rethreaded oem one though.

blah im used to driving with 1hand on the wheel and 1 on the shift ****, i cant drive with two hands on the wheel i cant focus like that for some reason idk just not for me

you know, the rally drivers have the same setup....

and i think it works for racecars that need EVERY tenth/hundreth...


but, on a street car... it's almost worthless.

when i need the extra hundreth of a second, i'll consider these...

I have to add that this is one top-notch quality piece. Fastline Performance really did their homework on this one. It's CNC-machined steel, so it won't break like cheap aluminum shifters do. The flat black finish is very nice, and the counterweight is TIG-welded. The tolerance where the two pieces fit together is very tight (so tight, we had to pound the top section in with a hammer). It is nice and heavy, and does not rattle or vibrate like some cheap shifters will. Plenty of clearance above the exhaust too.

They give you all the pieces you need, including a Delrin bushing for the linkage eye, and a new OEM Honda bushing for the pivot ball. The instructions were also painfully detailed.

WOW that thing looks straight goofy as hell. While it may work wonderfully and prove to be quite usefull on the track, i just cant have that thing in my car.

That's what I was going to ask... I had a cheap short-throw (away) shifter that I pulled back out of my car because it was hitting on my new exhaust. Looking at the comparison pics on that website it looks like their shifter hangs down much further than stock and possibly even further than a short throw

Just a FYI, Rally cars don't use that. They normally have two paddles on the steering wheel, and it's sequential. Sometimes you see one mounted on the floor. Those are just a bar that raises up that far, and only goes forward or backward (Back to up shift, forward to down shift). 9 times out of 10, if you see what looks like a shifter on the floor of a rally car, it's the e- brake. I'm not flaming, just letting you know.

I don't road race. And I'd like to be able to reach my dash controlw w/out some big stick in my face. Yes, I'm sure it feels wonderful, really heavy and all to make crisp shifting, and that it's quicker to get hands on wheel, but on a DD I wouldn't rock it.

I installed the shifter and drove the car. I am purchasing one for my current race-car, my daily driver, and my future race car. It is by far the best shifter setup i have driven. It is like telepathic shifter , think and it is gear. Much easier to keep both hand on the wheel(u should, especailly when you drive a non power steering EF with wide sticky tires). To all those who hate on it your probably a stunna anyway and like rollin in your hot ride, but those of you that like to drive, this shifter is for you.

For the one shift you do in most autocrosses right?(95% of the time you do a first to second gear shift once and that all).
