Engine Serial Number
Hello,
I just picked up an 89' CRX a couple days ago and was told that the previous owner did a ZC swap to it. I'm not familiar with this swap, I've always owned Nissans. I did a little bit of research and found that it was a D series engine, but I would like to know exactly what kind of engine it is that I have
I've been searching, trying to find a way to look up an engine serial number, but have been unsuccessful, and was just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
The serial number on the block is: L3-1356911
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Jimmie

Re: Engine Serial Number
I'm pretty sure that the l3 number is for the transmission....
Look for a flat spot near where the engine meets the trans it should be stamped ZC. You may need to clean it off somewhat in order to read it. good luck.

sohc zc.
basically a D16A6 from japan. Rated at 120ps (~118hp)
The d16a6 is rated on our shores as 108hp, but If you were to ask anyone that has dyno'd a healthy one it is definitely underrated at 108hp.

Re: Engine Serial Number
Thanks for the input all, hahaha. Thanks 89si for the engine ID.
Give me a break guys, I JUST picked this up last weekend lol. I definately hesitated to post these pics, and you guys definately didn't let me down, hehe.
There are a lot of things that need to go/be replaced, but all in good time.
Right now my main issue is trying to figure out what is wrong with the cluster... MPH works, but everything else (temp, gas, RPM) is not working. Any input on this?
