dx vs. si
i did a zc swap a couple of monthes ago and when i did the swap i retained my dx tranny. this last sunday at WWIII @ MIR i broke the dx tranny on my first run(1st,3rd, and 5th snycros), so i went out and got an si tranny from a rex. is there gonna be any difference performance wise, i know with that dx tranny i pulled horrible 1/4 times. i hope that the si doesn't let me down

Ive heard that the Si tranny is a happy medium between the dx and the ZC tranny. It accelerates quicker than the dx and it doesnt require the use of teg axles like the ZC tranny does.

I had the Si tranny, had it replaced w the ZC tranny when I got my SOHC ZC...the Si tranny is the best for acceleration but the RPM at cruising speed (4100 rp at 80 mph in 5th gear) was a little high for me...the ZC is still a decent accelerator, but is a little more relaxed (-500 rpm at 80 in 5th) at cruising speeds.

That would be a DX tranny.
I think you meant ZC tranny with Si FD or just swap 3rd and 4th into the Si tranny.

all Si trannies have same gear ratio..one wont make you faster than other...you should pick up some ET cause DX tranny has a 3.88 final drive and Si tranny has 4.25 final drive....they have the same gear ratios 1st thru 5th... 1st is 3.25 2nd is 1.89 3rd is 1.25 4th is .93 5th is .77.

i only made one run so you probably didnt see me, after my gears went i parked my car behind the sunoco station. i was like one of the last ones to run in H4.

I think you guys may have some misinformation. This is quoted from Hybrid resource: "The Si transmission is the best choice available. Both the Si and DX transmission bolts right up and keeps the install simple. The DX transmission will sacrifice performance for better fuel mileage and lower freeway rpms. The ZC transmission has a close ratio 1-5th gear, but a long final drive, making the best transmission still the US Si. For the ultimate acceleration make a Si/ZC hybrid transmission, by taking the Si final drive and put it in the ZC transmission. Or you can do it the other way around, ZC 1-5 in a Si transmission case. Either way, expect 80mph to turn 4300 rpms. However, the ZC transmission requires you to use ZC or 90-91 Integra axles, and a ZC or 86-89 Integra intermediate shaft. well, to actually answer your question about whether an Si tranny will be better than your DX tranny: YES. Do it. if you want a ZC tranny, then you're going to have to change out your axles for 90-93 integra ones and swap out the halfshafts for ZC ones. the Si will feel like a beast compared to the DX. good luck.
