Default doing a MPFI swap, can i mix match the throttle body?

hey guys

im doing a mpfi and i got a good deal for the i/m, ecu, dist, and resistor box. the only problem is that the intake manifold didn't come with a throttle body and its off of a 91 civic si and i wanted to put a d16y8 throttle body as a replacement. my question is will it work and will it throw a CEL if everything hooks up. the d16a6 and d16y8 t/b look different so i wasnt sure. thanks.

It also says 92-95 civic/automatic transmission if that matters.

Yes, it should work but it would be best to port match the throttle body to the manifold. You can also use a B-series throttle body, grab one off a B18a (DA teg) at a junkyard, they are cheap. Also the MAP sensor is on the TB for the Z6/Y8 manifolds, so you can get rid of the one on the firewall, jsut make sure you have one on the Y8 throttle body.

the t/b for a d16a6 is 56mm and so is the d16y8. if i dont want to remove the MAP sensor on my firewall, will it hurt to just leave the one on the t/b as is?

I got rid of my A6 manifold and used a Z6, but I used the TB that came with it. I think they are the same, I have read about people swapping them around. I know the Z6 mani had studs for it, and the A6 had a mix of studs and bolts to mount the TB. It won't hurt to leave the MAP there, but it's cleaner, and the plug is exactly the same. Don't take the one off the TB though because you'll have a vacuum leak where it mounts. If you take the one off the firewall, you can take the whole bracket off. If you remove the charcoal canister as well you don't need the purge solenoid that's on it. It cleans up the bay nicely. You don't even need to extend the MAP wires, you can stretch it to fit or cut the main wrapping a little and hide it behind the intake.

Here's a pic of my old setup I made to help someone find the MAP sensor, this is with the stock A6 manifold and TB, firewall mounted MAP:

And here's my current setup, Z6 intake manifold, MAP on the throttle body, charcoal canister removed. You can see it's much cleaner, there are very few vac lines:

I'm new to this site and I'm trying to figure out if I need the canister for my mpfi set up I'm using a z6 mani and a y8 tb, y8 fuel rail modded to work on the z6 mani on my d15b2. Just to let you know I am unable to see the pic that was posted about it
