d16y8 into a crx, still code 10? Suggestions?
Ok here is the deal, I swapped in a 98 d16y8 into my 91crx. I am running it with a p28 ecu and everything is wired correctly. On the a6 the intake temp sensor is mounted in the intake manifold, right above the alternator on the drivers side.
On the d16y8, the sensor is mounted in the air intake tube that runs from the airbox to the throttle body. I purchased the 98 d16y8 intake temp sensor, wired it in place of the old a6 one, and mounted it in the intake tube and siliconed it in place to seal any possible air blowby.
The car runs fine, but gives the error code. What gives? Where does the air intake temp sensor mount on a d16z6????? Is it that the a6/z6 are mounted in the intake manifold, yielding a higer range of values vs. the y8 being in the intake tube and yield a lower range of temp values???
There are only two wires, green/white, and black yellow from y8. From a6, green white, and red/yel (which is the same color ground used for the injector resistors) so i know it is wired correctly. Even still, I reversed the wires and still error code. Any suggestions????
Also the idle used to hold right below 1k rpm. Now at idle it dips down to ~500rpm and a hair lower than that. Is there anything I need to do to correct the idle????
It just started doing this today, It idled fine for a few weeks so I dont want to mess with the idle screw at the throttle body.
Thanks
Steven

Ok how about setting the idle? I read something about resetting a sensor to fix the fluctuating idle. Anyone care to share again?
Thanks
