Default d16y8 exhaust manifold on d16a6

I just wanted to confirm if it will fit? and not have any clearance issues with the oil pan?I assume it will because many people do "mini me" swaps with d16y8 head's and d16a6 blocks.Thank you for your time and help;Matt.

Thanks man,I recently picked up a d16y8 exhaust manifold for a buddy who doesn't want to spend $300-500 on a header right now.I was told it's one of the best flowing stock header's out there for any D series motors. We'll see how it goes.

works great. i have the earlier cast version.

the rear support doesnt quite reach but its not that important. you will need to cut out a hole for the dipstick in the heat shield. you should use the heat shield, it certainly helps with keeping what should be hot stay hot, and whats not... not.

anything is better than the stock manifold, that is where all the power is bottled up.

I have one and planning to put it on my A6. Just remember that the O2 sensor hole is further back.

Post your outcome

on the Cdm(Canadian model) it's right at the front, similar to the d16z6 one? If I have to extend the o2 sesnor wire thats not a problem though.I will let you guys notice if I notice any difference.

you wont need to extend the o2 sensor. its on the #4 runner. the end of the sensor does nearly interfere with the fan, but its ok.

the DC SPORTS Z6 header is at the rear. even then theres no need to extend the wire, just route it over the backside of the tranny.

They're all relatively in the same place in the upper part of the exhaust manifold

D16A6

D16Z6

D16Y8

99-00 D16Y8

just wanted to add this to the list of images you have there. i can't comment empirically on the flow (better or worse) but this does weigh the least of all OE manifolds.

Also on the 99-00 tubular-style EX manifolds, the O2 is on the bottom like a DC sports. But like Tyson said, you can re-route the stock wires behind the motor/trans and it will reach.

Tyson, do you have any tips on assembly order (Z6 manifold going into my Si)? I currently have everything out including the head & radiator right now.

I was thinking....
- Exhaust manifold
- Radiator
- Fan/shroud
- O2 Sensor

I ask because even the stock A6 manifold was a bitch to get out, and I can't test fit anything until my cylinder head comes back from the shop.

Put the o2 sensor on first.

Well I started installing the Z6 down-pipe on my A6 and guess what.... after torquing it against the upper half, I noticed the damn thing had started crushing into my freakin' stock A6 oil pan.

THIS IS BULLSHIT!!! I can't catch a break with this damn car!
