Post D16y8 on a 90 crx si. Help please..

HI. i have few questions about this swap. after 5 months looking for a d16a6 i notice that it was imposible to find an engine with low mileage and a good price. so i found this d16y8 with 90k thinking that everything will fit.
1- I want to know if my si tranny will fit the y8?
2- i got stock with the wiring i dont really know much about wiring. actually this is my first swap. so i dont really know what to do next. should i get the dizzy and ecu for the obd1. or should i stay with the obd0? i want to stay with the obd0 since the difference is only about 10hp. and i dont really want to spend too much money on my car right now- tight budget. the only thing is that the wiring is really different the injectors- and some wires plug to the block. can you guys help me to find out how can i still use my obd0 on the y8..

thank you in advance..

The si tranny will fit the y8. You need to change the drivers side engine mount.

Stock wiring? If that means you have multi point, it's nearly plug and play. If you want to still run obd0, just change the injectors on the y8's intake manifold. There are a few wires that you need to extend. (map sensor on firewall, coolant sensor on back of engine)

Did the car's old engine have vtec before? Do you want to use vtec? Is your setup MPFI or DPFI? Need some answers to better help you. Searching the web never hurts either.

I just put in a Y8 Myself and I have it running DualPort so wiring won't be a problem for you.

Wow, someone else who has dual point on there y8. I'm not as ashamed.

It will run on dpfi, mpfi will be better for power though.

THANKS Guys.. Which Driver side engine mount should i use??
my old d16a6 didnt have vtec. i do have the multipoint..i want to use vtec but i just dont want to spend a lot of money right now so i believe i can do that later. however i have search and it looks like i have to replace the dizzy - ecu- harness and replace the o2 censor. i just dont have any idea of how much could be $$$. i know new parts will be a fortune i dont know about a junk yard.

thanks i will post some picture soon..

You need to put the driver's side mount from your old engine on to your y8. If i remember correct, you shouldn't need to change the dizzy, harness and o2 sensor if you want to still use obd0. OBD1 is where the changes like that start happening. An easy way to engage vtec is to get a VAFC. It might be a little out of your budget though.

You should need to just transfer over the dizzy, harness and o2 sensor to the y8. Again, you will need to extend some wires. You can just put your OBD0 injectors on the y8, or change the injector plugs and change the resistor box.
