Default D16A8 Deceleration and stall

Hey I have a 1990 ED9 CRX with D16A8 and lately have encountered intermittant deceleration and stalling. At times I could be cruising along, put my foot down on the gas and when it hits about 3,000rpm it dies. Any pointers on where to look and what might be causing this?? New dizzy was fitted about 3 months ago, has been running fine till the last few weeks. Sometimes when it has stalled it has been a pig to get started again also.
It has been suggested to maybe check out the purge cut off solenoid valve, and purge control diaphragm valve.
How would I test these units to see if they were working ok or faulty?
Thanks

What do your spark plugs tell you? Rich, lean, good? Could be fuel pump going out, could be distributor, could be a bad ground, bad ECU... there are lots of possibilities. Can you reproduce it with any consistency at all, or does it happen totally randomly? Do your troubleshooting at these times when it's hard to start right after... look for weak spark (yellowish spark), check fuel pressure...
