my last day of school was today. time to really get started on the rex. the engine is pulled and the harness is in my room. ive got work this weekend so ill try to mod the harness after work. on monday hopefully well get the engine mounted.after that the work speed might slow down due to finances haha.

Re: (91civicEX)
allright i got some more pictures please excuse my camera phone
heres what ive done
did all the mpfi wiring. i came up with an idea i havent seen before. in the past everyone always used after market connectors to run the wires from the ecu through the firewall. i used the male and female connectors from my old dpfi dist. looks pretty stock. ran the injector wires under the intake manifold and rewrapped most of the harness.
the connector from the old dizzy
injector wiring
the harness just hangin out.
then i cleaned the engine bay, came out pretty good, even though i scratched the **** out of it putting the engine in. as a last minute stroke of genius i replaced my nice painted valve cover with the shitty one from the old engine. so my vc is still mint phew.
pretty clean ya?
the engine is in and im gonna get as much as i can done this week. probably everything but the intake manifold. time to order some fuel management stuff and itll be running within this month.
the mess that is my garage

thas the plan. wideband is ready and i jsut gotta buy a chipped ecu and start tuning.
some more pics from today.
got a bunch of random stuff connected. the manifold is just there to take up space. im still waiting for the skunk2. also i found out that the dist. that i was gonna use has gone to ****. so to finish the project i gotta buy a new dizzy new radiator and the tuning junk. visa where are you?

When I had my B18a block machined they used what is called a deck plate. It is a very thick piece of metal that mimics the cylinder head bolted on the block. it just bolts onto the block like a cylinder head and has 4 large holes for the boring/hoing stones to pass through.
Good build, keep the d series spirit alive!

Re: D16A6 buildup: All-motor Non-Turbo Non-nitrous "Budget Build" (mntuner2)
u know i saw a video on hot honing. where they do that and run hot honing oil through the block. it worked really well. but i didnt wanna buy or fabricate a deck plate. and a hot honing set up would be even more time consuming and expensive we ended up playing with cutting pressures and stone grits. the machine could dwell at the bottom of the cyl but not the top. oh well i hope it works haha theres very little taper a little less than one thousandth. somethin like .0008

I don't think my micrometer goes that precise. All I have to say is "good enough for government work." I am sure it will run like a beut, don't forget to put in the good stuf

props on the a6, really beautiful work.
and for the guy that wanted you to do diy pistons, he does know they are heat treated and usually coated. not something for the diy-er.

I want a CRX tattoed on my butt
Re: (Rednas)
8 tenths bore size taper wont make any difference. Stock blocks from the factory obviously are a tad better but that isnt bad. I had about the same on the current motor Ive had running for a while now
As long as the cylinder is in almost perfect roundness then your rings will love you forever

Pssh, I did that with OBD-1 grey connectors for sexiness for my OBD-0 --> OBD-1 wires. Good job

I assume your talking ten-thousandths. a tenth will make a BIG diff. but you allready knew that, right?
