Default D15B2 water pump pipe/hose question.

Can someone please give me pointers how to take the pipe that goes into the water pump off? I need it on the new block since the old one is toast. I have attached pictures. Thank you!

It’s the pipe on the bottle of the pic that goes into the water pump.

just pull it off. You'll probably have to twist and pull. The o-ring is probably making it stick

thanks for the reply. Thought about doing that without damaging it. The pipe is shaped concave around the o-ring preventing it to slide out easily. I’ll try to straighten the concave shape with pliers and give it a try tonight unless somebody else have a better idea.

Do not straighten it out - you will make it leak. Just grab it from the back side with both hands and pull it out while wiggling it back and forth. Don't be afraid to man-handle it.

just like you guys said with a little bit of wiggling it came right out. The gasket is what created a tight fit. Thank you

I like to put a very small amount of grease (I use polyurea, because that's what I've got) on the new o-rings when reassembling. It prevents the o-ring from sticking and rolling out of its groove when being reassembled, which will cause it to leak. It also makes the next removal just a little easier.

I'll remember that. I'm sure I've got some laying around in the garage somewhere. Thank you
