Default could the problem be the crx fuel pump?

Alright so I take my crx to the honda dealer (105$ for a diagnosis, fkn ouch!) and they say that the fuel pressure is low and that MIGHT be the problem (the car has irregular idle around 4-5k rpm and will stall if I run it hard and shift from first to second or second to third). Once it stalls it won't start up right away unless I click the key and hear the fuel pump fire up and then start it and it starts right away.

My question is, the fuel pump is obviously working, has anyone had a fuel pump that was pumping less pressure? I want to know for sure before I try to replace it myself (dealer quoted 900$!). Or could it be something else entirely? Dealer said it wasn't logging any codes after the stall. I've replaced the dizzy cap, spark plug wires, plugs, fuel filter (last year), valve gasket and spark plug seals, and alternator. The engine has about 200k on the odo.

Thanks guys.

what are the main components in a fuel system?
pump,filter,regulator
test for pressure at the line before the filter
if it holds then the pump is good and its probably just a clogged filter
