Default code 14, EACV

-code 14, EACV

What do u know about code 14? i have it and i tried to rewire the IACV, replace it with one that was thoroughly cleaned (reusing o-ring gasket), two other ECUs and still nothing. any ideas? whenever i run it to 8000 rpms, it'll go into limp mode. but until then it seems to drive pretty good. at lower rpms/speeds, its a little tough to drive because theres no medium between 0-10% throttle so it bucks a little, but on the highway it drives great. any ideas?

well i have a boomslang harness for OBD0 DPFI --> OBD1 MPFI. and im using hondata with a GSR map (for '97 JDM ITR swap). any idea on how to fix the conversion harness?

i've spoken to a friend who has crome and he told me that when he disabled his IACV it did what my car is doing....that is why i tried to rewire the valve.

bump....

does anyone know if replacing the old/used gasket will make the code go away? i was thinking maybe it is leaking and taking in an incorrect amount of air or something...

i think you can put a flat peace of rubber behind it. creating a block of plate.

well when i unplug it, the car runs horribly. so i dont think blocking it off is the best solution. do u know how to troubleshoot a conversion harness?

why do you keep suggesting that i remove it, block it off or disable it? i want to keep the sensor....just fix the issue. does anyone know how to troubleshoot the conversion harness? anyone have any online diagrams?

Do NOT make a block off plate for the IACV. (Idle Air Control Valve)

If you are getting a CEL, it is being caused by one or more problems.
1. sensor is bad (try and swap for clean one)
2. ECU is bad (swap ecu and test)
3. Wiring is bad

To check the wiring, one wire on the IACV goes to ground. The other wire goes to the ECU. best of luck

my wiring diagrams tell me that one wire goes to the Main Relay and the other goes directly to the ECU. The one that goes to the main relay gets tied in with the injectors and purge solenoid. its the YEL/BLK wire that all of the injectors have that all come together.... I'm assuming that one gets grounded. or maybe the one at the ECU is grounded at the ECU? any idea?

well i rewired it completely. i tied in the YEL/BLK to the YEL/BLK of the number 1 injector. and i ran the other wire straight to the ECU pin it belongs in. i may have not needed to run that wire, but i for testing reasons, i wanted to be sure everything was right. then, when it worked, i just kept it the way it was...
