Re: Cheap jdm front end
just my 2 cents: buying a cheap jdm front end will still cost you unless youre going to just slap it on and run it. At that point, whats the point of spending the cash for a half a$$ed setup. If you buy a front end in good shape, then you will probably be paranoid about rock chips or people hitting your car. If it was my car, id save the cash, buy a brand new oem usdm front end and pocket the extra cash, that way when some one hits my car, i can sourse the parts again with the insurance check. Insurance wont pay for your "jdm" parts if usdm is the original stock parts

^^ I live in Calgary Alberta in Canada. We have four local suppliers, i just went and picked it up in person. I am sure i got a deal, as i work in the auto industry
Good places you can check...
- JDM Source
- Paswword JDM
- ICB Morotsports
You could just spend some time googling jdm suppliers and making some calls, not all places advertise what they have

Re: Cheap jdm front end
its all based on $$ options.
You can easily piece the ef8 front end or ef9 front end
There are plenty other options, which may solve your problem.
You can piece together a basic zc front end(this front end is very similar to the usdm front end from 88-89 model, just more light weight) This may include, the zc front bumper with lightweight bumper support, zc spec headlights(plastic lenses, and they use the h4h bulbs), and zc hood(has a small hump on the drivers side) alongside some clear corners to match the headlights
basic front end, although its not "sir" its a bit of an upgrade if anything
Piece together a front end and you can probably save, or pay more depending on the resources.
A jdm front end for the hatchback or ef9 consists of:
ef9 headlights
ef9 filler piece
ef9 bumper with lightweight bracket(optional lip)
ef9 bumper lights
ef9 hood
ef9 fenders(optional)
ef9 t bracket
usdm corner lights can be used, but jdm is an option
If you cant afford to pay for everything, just running the ef9 bumper and basic lip will pull off the original front end your car has. or you can do some custom fabrication as i have seen posted on other threads here on honda-tech.
An ef8 front end consists of:
ef8 headlights
ef8 hood
ef8 bumper
ef8 bumper lights
ef8 fenders
ef8 t bracket
just like the ef9 front end some parts are optional, which can be used, but not needed.
i cant say the same about the ef8 bumper retrofitted to the usdm front end, but there can be custom fabrication done as well.
Nowadays what makes the front end harder to get is cash. Parts are readily available, but without the right amount of cash it makes things just a bit harder.
Even with the basic zc front end, chances are you spend the majority of the cash on the hood alone. front ends are not cheap, better yet shipping doesnt help prices either.
you can easily assemble the ef9 front end on a sedan as well, just take into consideration the corner lights and the necessary parts for it to fit. may or may not be a direct bolt on, but fitting is required.
