how many miles do you have on ur engine?

for blue smoke i believe ur burning really rich.

i think black smoke is burnin oil, i might have them crossed tho.

check your spark plugs and see what they look like. and post 'em up if u can, if not post what they look like.

yer i believe u have crossed em

im pretty sure blue smoke means ure burnin oil ..i.e need new rings..

black smoke u get when ya cars running heaps rich
i got blue smoke porin outta one of my crxs with a zc..im real pissed off as i just bought this car.. wot can i do? i can either get new rings n pistons and hope it goes away or swap in another zc with less kms.. i think im gonna go with the second option as i have got 3 zcs sittin around..

its still a bitch and disapoointin..

burnin oil = do compression test. see what ur numbers are for compression in each piston.

you might want to stop at autozone as well and get some piston ring sealant. it's a really thick fluid that you put in with your oil

works very well on my stock motor

A compression test wont tell you if your burning oil or not through the rings....becuase my compression is awesome...but from 1st to 2nd at wide open throttle and then when I shift thereafter.

If its your rings....but you have good compression its your oil rings which are the last 2 or 3(not sure) rings on the piston....they are there to stop blow-by....

My valve seals also suck ***.....but ive got a a6 head and intake manifold waiting to go on the DX.

Does that piston ring seal really work??? It doesnt hurt performance does it?? I thought it would due to gumming up your system pretty good?

Ya I've used it for a while, it's very gummy-ish stuff, and I have over 200,000 miles on my stock motor and completely stopped the burning of the oil, if not, REALLY slowed down the burning oil consumption of the engine.

But new motor with 30,000 miles on it is coming tomorrow, so I don't have to worry about that anymore
