my 91 hatch si stock has blown saturday trying to avoid puddle of water that my cold air suck in, my question is there any fix it, or what to look for to replace the part.

need to tear it apart. your motor is prob junk now.

when using a cold air intake, use a bypass valve i have seen many cars ruined because of this same reason

Your motor hydro-locked!! You can't compress water since its in a liquid state. When trying to compress it.... it forces its way out. Did you hear a loud bang or any noises??

My friend did the same exact thing and he claims he never heard anything. I inspected his motor and right in the front, a rod blew through the block. Big hole in the block. Not sure how he didn't hear that!!!!!!

as soon as i went over the puddle i didn't hear a loud noise, is there a chance to rebuild it in price range or just save for a b series, also i never heard the word hydro-locked, what do i need compress it? next time ill get the aem intake, i didn"t have a splash cover

Injen makes intake hydro-socks for filters too, and yeah you probably wouldn't want to run a Cold Air without the splash cover.

I'm sure you can rebuild it at long as nothing came through the cylinder wall. Might be the same price to rebuild as getting a swap.

are u sure its blown i was driving threw a huge puddle sucked water in threw my turbo dies i pulled the spark plugs kicked it over a few times watch an amazing amount of water come out put the spark plugs back in turned it over a few more times and it started got home ran a compression check and everything was fine

Inspect for damage first, and go from there.

After the tear down make sure to inspect everything carefully. You dont want to have spend more money rebuilding a D series engine when you can save up for something better.

I wouldn't just pull it out,lol if there are no visual damages!.............always check it out first.
I would def pull the plugs, disconnect the dizzy, and have a friend watch while you crank it over to help dry it out. Few times is good.

Next i would replace the fuel filter, i have personally replaced one that was filled with water and preventing start up!

Just run a damm short ram, cold air is BS. You are not going to feel the HP difference, i promise!
