Which block to go with my d16z6 head?
I am trying to find out what block options are and maybe a little info about them... I am building a new motor to swap into my dx hatch and i want the best available block to go with my z6 SOHC VTEC head. I got the head, with intake manifold and distributor already mounted but im about to start taking it apart and cleaning it and later port and polished. Basically im looking for some useful reading or some opinions on what direction to take with my swap.

Right now i dont have the funds for forced induction. I just want a clean *** N/A engine most likely, although i wouldnt mind some future potential. What are the full names of the blocks you are talking about, so i can do more research. any links on this would be appreciated as well. Really i want to know my options and their advantages and disadvantages.

Do i have to go OBD1 or OBD2 or something? right now i have everything for the head swap but the ECU. so im still undecided on the direction of my swap with my block and ECU. What would you guys match to that head for a nice strong N/A motor, partly because i dont know what wiring is compatible with what.

Best thing to do is get a obd0-obd1 jumper harness.and use an obd1 ecu(p28 for z6)
And you have a DX so MPFI swap is needed..

K im gonna use the d16z6 block, p28 ecu, then what wiring needs to be done? dont i just need the straight harness from the 92-95 z6? That is what we call going OBD1, or am i mistaken?

...Use your DX harness and just buy a obd1 conversion jumper harness from "blown90hatch" or where ever and wire it in...Thats the easy way..

stay away from ANY d16y8/y7 motor. the oil pumps are poop in the "y" series motors. even if u replace the oil pump, its still garbage.
i'd use a d16z6 block. d16a6 as second choice. but thats just me.

Could use a Z6 pump and relocate the oil dip stick somehow. ?!?!?
