Best way to clean PCV valve?
Long story short there isn't a replacement PCV valce for my EF7 '88 CRX for at least 3000km so my only bet is to try clean the gunk out of my current one best I can. The spring inside appears to be fine but it is full of oil and other crud thats affecting its flow. I was wondering what chemicals would be best, considering its plastic and I don't want to ruin it.
Thanks

Any non-polar hydrocarbon. ethanol. methanol. benzene. toluene (be careful this is a carcinogen, so don't inhale too much). gas. diesel fuel. et al. Let it soak, then clean it with a nylon brush.

Re: Best way to clean PCV valve?
Your best bet is to buy a new one from 1989-91 because they were plastic in 1988 they sucked and caught all the bad stuff a lot. I should still screw into the IM if not then get a new IM they are cheap especially if you are still DPFI. I can't hardly give my DPFI mani away but I still keep it around just in case. Or then there is no better time to do a MPFI swap. haha but reaally look at getting a metal you will see they last longer and aren't that expensive at all.

My rex is already MPFI stock. And I have searched country wide for a replacement part and no go, one guy I found had one for the 1500 dual carb but wanted $70 for it. So I just gave it a soak and it seems a lot more freed up now, should be OK for a while.
