B16 hatch wont start...help!
Ok, here is the story....
1990 DX hatch, w/ JDM B16a, intake, exhuast, intake manifold. Car has ran fine for 2 years..
A couple weeks ago the owner moved the battery to the trunk. Car ran fine for 2 days afterwards. After 2 days the car would stutter and die after the owner got on the gas alot. The problem got worse, until eventually the car wont start at all anymore
Today we went out to mess with it. Tried jumping the car with my car. No avail. I later used a voltmeter and measured the battery power, which was 12.6V, so the battery is fine. Next, we put the battery into the stock location, and hooked it back up how it was stock to see if perhaps this was the problem. Car acted the exact same. Next, I checked to see if it was getting spark. All 4 cylinders are getting spark. After this, we unhooked the fuel line going from the filter to the rail to see if the car was getting fuel. (owner had suspected a fuel pump problem since it is kinda old) The car would spit fuel when cranking from this open line. Fuel pump still works... The only suspicion is that the fuel injectors arent firing like they should (or at all) This is backed up from the idea that from all the cranking we have done, we have yet to smell any fuel like the car is flooded.
1) How could we check to see if the fuel injectors are firing?
2) Could a bad/weak ground cause a wire to burn out somewhere making the fuel injectors not get power/ground?
3) Any other ideas out there? Getting kind of despirate....
Thanks everyone
