What all is involved in putting an automatic motor to a 5 speed car? thanks!

 

you just need flywheel and clutch assembly to match your transmission

 

i bet youll need a new center console too. and probably will need to widen the area where the shifter lives

 

do u wanna convert it to an automatic, or u are just putting the motor that was attached to an automatic into your 5spd?, if so you don't need anything, the motors aren't any different

 

Well if I read it right and you want to make your 5speed and auto there are a few things your going to need and the basics would be tranny (obviously) automatic ECU that will match your motor as well, the shift cable and linkage for the automatic trans. You will have to add the wires for the reverse light since they will be on the auto shifter instead of on the tranny. Your going to have to take out the a part by the console (the metal piece that the inner rubber boot goes onto needs to be removed) and then have to cut a whole for the shifter rod. All the holes will be there though you will just have to figure out where exactly. You can use the same console just have to unscrew the shift boot.

Let me know what else you need to know I did the opposite so I know what should be there.

Oh yeah and you will want to get an automatic pedal assembly and also have to run the wires from the neutral safety switch to the park safety switch in the automatic shifter....What parts do you need exactly?? Cause I did the opposite so I have a lot of automatic parts lying around as well.
