I'm about to put in a new tranny, and just need to know....is there any difference between an A1 and an S1 tranny...im almost positive they're both from LS's.
And before anyone flames...i used the search button.

Ive never seen a short geared A1. Ive only seen a US A1 that is geared like an LS.
The US S1 is geared like a LS, the JDM S1 is short geared like a B16 tranny.
I wished Honda wouldnt have used the same codes for multiple areas and markets. It would have saved much confusion for most people.
For the YS1 cable trannies, there is the US ones geared like a LS, and the JDM YS1 trannies that are geared shorter.
But one thing the US got was the rare B17 ( also called the YS1 ) cable tranny that was even shorter than the JDM ones in some gears!
Hope that helped. ( Or confused you more! )
