JMZ, where did you get the OEM new evaporator with expansion valve? I thought they were unavailable

Take a look at the core tubing and you might be able to see the difference.

So the round tubes on each side of the condenser indicate definitively that it's a parallel flow?

Off of Ebay about 2 years ago. Place out of Tampa. Had several in honda boxes. Don't see them anymore...

I'm uploading these photos straight from my phone... anyway to reduce the size a little?

Mock up of compressor. I knew it would fit since its for this motor, but im having trouble with stupid ac idler pulley assembly. Also shot of the first obstacle when using this condensor.

Yes, what you have is a parallel.

Once I notched the bulkhead the condenser slid into place. The drivers side bolted up fine usining the rubber bushings from the original condensor. The passenger side proved a bit different. As you see in the pic the tab was flat on top and even then looking through the hole you cant get the stud of the rubber mount in there. I had to gently pry it up and also grind a little off the top of the pipe to make just enough room for the nut to slip in.

JMZ - would you mind posting your source for the OEM TRS090? I see one on eBay but it's ~$600?

My buddy is working on this right now as well on his 90 Si hatch. We noticed the same thing about the passenger side mounting tab

09-4955 SANDEN A/C Compressor and A C Compressor from AC Parts

This is where I got it. They do not list the Sanden 4993 which is what I bought, they still only list this 4995 which I guess has been discontinued and replaced by 4993. Call and ask them. They were very nice but I did have to wait for them to get it in. Again this 4993 is NOT a bolt in for EF's with Sanden TR70's. Pricing was a bit more than this one shows but not a whole lot more;-)

Yes, I know yours only bolts in with your Z1 swap but the mounting points certainly look very similar. I see the 4993 compressor has one bolt hole that is shorter than the others. (*edit - or on second look it appears maybe not)

I'm wondering if the 4993 can be made to fit the stock D15 bracket with a fairly simple adapter bracket. Worst case, I have no qualms welding up my own compressor to block bracket. Would you mind measuring the bolt hole mounting locations of the 4993 compressor? Similar to what I'm doing here with my TR70?

Ive already bolted it in but if you go to the Sanden website they have the complete blueprint for the compressors. Hope that helps.

I dove into the dash to remove/replace the evaporator and found what appears to be a squirrels nest lol. Holy cow there was alot of crap in there. Makes me think it may be the original, but then again who knows with 425,000 miles. Also cleaned the box and re-foamed the seals.

Your EVAP box was nasty!
Brought back memories for my old one.
Owned by a lady that smoked and had cats caked tar and cat hair all over..
Had to soak it in simple green.

Ok. This is the 97 crv line coming off the 4993 and running under the cooling fan just like stock CRX and will meet up with the stock crx line coming off the top of the condenser. I just have to have the hose shop do their thing.

Here's where they meet up... the top left corner of the drivers side fan. Ill let hose guy decide best location for splice based on hose flex etc.

Here is the other side using the original eg line. It comes straight up and over to the left, almost matching up perfect to the large evaporator nut connection right behind radiator cap.

On another note: Does anyone happen to have the suction line (the one with the big nut connection near the radiator cap coming from compressor) from an 94-95 eg? I'm almost thinking that I can use the factory eg suction line and connect it to the CRX line. Looking on the Honda parts sites both use the 5/8 O Ring. I just need someone to measure the overall length if possible. It would at least give me an idea if it will work. I went to all the local parts stores but no one had one in stock. Just trying to make this as plug-n-play as possible.

The EF Sanden suction line is Four Seasons part # 56338. The 94/95 suction line is Four Seasons part # 56222

The EF line is listed as 25.6" length by Four Seasons and the EG line is listed at 26". I think these may be the "shipping dimensions" but regardless I would bet that means they're very very close in length.

How sure are we that the nut will thread onto the EF? Or are you making that guess based on the same o-ring size?

Im not sure about the nut but knowing the length is that close makes it worth going to u-pull to pick one up. Leaving now.

Picked up an EG compressor plug and soldered it to my EF bullet style plug.

Just to be clear - you're referring to the nut on the EG suction line being totally different from the threaded end on the EF factory hard-line that runs along the top of the radiator?

What did the hose shop have to say about swapping the fittings?

Yes the big nut connection by radiator cap. The entire connection is a different style. The nut and threads may be the same but how the oring fits inside is way different. I just had the hose shop make a new line with eg compressor fitting and ef fitting/nut on other end. Pics coming.
