91 EF, bad alternator, driving distance
My alternator failed yesterday, and I'm wondering how far I'll be able to drive on a fully speed-charged battery. Home is about 40 miles away, and that's where I'll have to go in order to repair it.

really just depends on how bad and what exactly is failing.
ive gone 100 miles when the charge warning light pops on, and ive gone dead within 10.

Thanks you guys. I went ahead and drove out today and replaced the alt. After returning, I noticed the light come on again for a split second and then go away. It stressed me a bit, so I drove it again later for another 5-10 mins, but I didn't see it come on again, so time will only tell.
