91 CRX SI rattling noise after I...

Hey Peeps need your expertise!!!
i'm new to Honda's in general but here we go.

I bought this car...fast and shifts like a monster i mean hits..
Well 1 day I shifted too hard and it now it rattles loud enough that peeps stare when i drive by.

Sounds like metal is turning and stops when i stop basicallly.


2nd Problem: Next day i was fustrated that the car rattled and got pissed off at a light and busted a U-Turn pretty sharp & fast and my left wheel went bonkers! It sounded like it didnt turn and was dragging and made a metallic thumping...and hard vibrating.

Anything helps i screwed up a good car so far.

check the plastic on the bottom of the car. Might be something broke and fell and making noise..

Could be an axle. Mine did that once after i got pissed off at the car in front of me and got on it around a u-turn. Turned out i bust the cv joint on the tranny side. Made a really bad noise until i replaced it though.

Try checkin the mounts, maybe the metal on the mounts is vibrating on the metal of the chassis. I launched once wit slicks n broke out the case on the top of the trans for the real mount where the bolts go, just a thought....

Oh ****. it is exactly what happened to my axle. That is awesome. I'm glad I'm not the only one that managed to do that. Im kind of surprised you lost the entire boot.

Replace the axle.

Yep replace the axle and if the other one is bad as well replace it too. And if the seals on the tranny leak you might as well replace those at the same time since your working in that area anyway.

If you still have a noise you might be looking at a tranny rebuild or a new tranny.

Gotcha ....this might sound funny but like i said i'm new to HONDA in general..but how can i check my fluid levels on the Tranny Fluid?

there is a plug on the drive side (shorter axle) that looks like it is copper. Unscrew that plug with a ratchet (1/4 drive i think) and you fill it till it runs out on the ground.

If your trying to drain it then unscrew the plug at the lower most part of the tranny.
