91 Civic DX Shifter Interlock Problem
I'm new here but have been with RedPepper for awhile. I suspect this board has a lot more info on the 91 Civics. I just got a 91 Civic DX automatic and dropped in a D16A6, successfully did a DPFI to MPFI conversion and the car runs and looks great now.
The problem I'm having is with the interlock system. The transmission shifter won't unlock and shift out of Park. The interlock solenoid at the shifter has power to it and when I hook a test light to the ground side the solenoid unlocks the shifter properly. I believe it is ground triggered. I checked my brake lights and they are working fine. I checked the blue interlock box under the drivers seat and did not notice anything burnt or messed up in there.
The key part of the interlock system is working properly. I currently have the solenoid zip tied to keep it off, but would like to fix it properly. I'm having a difficult time finding a wiring diagram for the interlock system. My Haynes book doesn't even mention it, I'm not suprised. I looked at the library and searched on gOOgle and found nothing except a picture. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or description of the flow of operation in the circuit with wire colors you could share? I really don't want to pull the carpet out and split open the harness to trace the wires if I don't have to. Thanks.

Re: 91 Civic DX Shifter Interlock Problem (jlicrx)
Wow, that was quick and complete, thanks jlicrx, I hardly had time to get back from getting coffee. That's exactly what I was looking for and I very much appreciate it. I think I'm good on the shift lever, I'm a nOOb here but I've been twisting wrenches for 30 years just not on Honda's.

Re: 91 Civic DX Shifter Interlock Problem (Acemcguyver)
Hey jlicrx I think I spoke to soon. Pg 23-100 refers to page 23-106 section 14 for the problem I'm having, is there a way to get that portion?
