i was wondering if their was a better choice ( i means after market)
one other thing.....at what rpm is the cut off on this ecu and is it the same thing on the ZC ecu? thanks

You can get this rechipped with the ZC fuel mapping, and incidently you DON"T want to spin this faster than 7,200 rpm unless you have custom rods and everything balanced.

you can also use an 89 integra manual ecu. The mapping is much better than a normal Civic/crx ecu. I have one for sale. I'm asking for $100. It's good enough and cheaper than an aftermarket or a rechip. Email me if you would like to get it.

Re: 89 crx si ecu (CRXRageD)
True it has better mapping but it also isn't dead on and leaves the ZC running rich at lower RPMS. That will screw him if he lives in an area that has tough emmisions requirements. But Given his choices. 1: JDM ZC ECU =Best Choice but hard to find, 2: TEG ECU = 2nd best choice but runs a little rich, 3: Si ECU= workable option if nothing else is availible to you. I myself run a JDM ZC ECU that I got from the same place that had my ZC. BUt they had like 4 ZC ECU's and about 50 ZC's the day I got mine. So I was lucky. Paid only $100 for the ZC ECU, and $650 for the motor about 2 months ago.

You can also get your Si ecu reprogrammed with the ZC maps from http://www.Zdyne.com It will also eliminate the speed limiter that's on the stock ZC ecu (112mph I think)
A little more expensive, but it gives you the best of both worlds.

Re: 89 crx si ecu (beatdown88hf)
I think it is 112 MPH but I wasn't concerned about it since I don't race and will almost certainly never see 112mph in my situation. In my case it was cheaper to get the ZC ecu since I had to buy something to even get reprogrammed upping the cost even more scince my car was a DX not a Si. I would have gotten my ECU reprogrammed if I would have had a Si ECU to start with. There are a lot of people running around with TEG ECU's so I would guess drivability is not an issue, I just live is an area with quite harsh Emmissions inspections. And I heard that the ZC's are borderline on passing in any case. Mine didn't pass by a huge margin, but it was still a pass.

I've also heard of people using the Si ecu to pass emissions, and the Teg ecu for performance. If money is a real big issue, then I'd recommend this route.
