ok so here's what happened i bought an 89 civic si hatch pretty much for the interior and when i went to put the seats in the brackets wouldn't line up. I was wondering if i could take my dx brackets and just use them on the si seats. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

88-89 interiors are quite a bit different than 90-91 mainly because of the different seat belt arangement. you can thank the 1990 US "passive restraint" law for that one! The door panels aren't going to fit either!

Just swap the material over. Remove the clips on the bottom portion "under" the seat. Swap the material over, and tighten it on using heavy duty wire ties. The upper seatback will bolt right on.

No tears. Only dreams, now.

That's a bad idea. Too complicated...
Anyway, I'm pretty close to your setup. I've got 90 Civic Si seats in my 91 DX CRX. What I did was I took the shitty rails off of the DX seat, and placed them where the rails on the Civic were. I saw that they didn't line up to the seat bottom, so I spent a half hour welding them on. It's sturdier than the rail to seat bolts, and now, I can simply bolt the rails to the car in the stock position. I hope that helps.

Honestly, it's really not that complicated. Unless the upper seatbacks bolt to the bottoms differently. It took me an hour to do this to CRX seats.
