how do i swap 88-91 CRX seats into a 91 civic? my old rails dont fit exactly and the seats dont bolt right in. are there different rails i have to get or do i have to drill some holes somewhere? im just stuck on what to do...help would be greatly appreciated!

 

I have heard that the 88 rails are different from the 89 and the 90-91 rails are different too. I wouldn't recommend drilling holes in your floorpan, not very secure. You can make custom brackets or do what I'm going to do tommorow...weld the rails on them damn seats.

 

To complicate things even more...88 CRX and 88 Civic have different bolt patterns as well.

88 Civic seats have brackets that are only (approx.) 1 ft apart. Instead of having brackets on the edges of the seat, one's towards the center.

I found this out the hard way and ended up with nice seats that had brackets that were nothing close to mine...
To make matters worse...I couldn't weld my old brackets to the new seats because they were destroyed beyond repair, which is actually the reason I bought new seats.

Ask if you can try bolting a seat in if its local, or ask for bracket measurements to at least give you an idea if it's close or not.

 

This is kinda related, but why are you going to put CRX DX seats in instead of CRX Si seats? they are waaay better.

 

i was told they were CRX DX seats but when you look at them they are exactly like the Si seats but without the hollow headrest, its a lot better than my Civic DX seats...
