84 crx (possibly sell) or keep and b18 swap?
well ive been searching through the forum and cant find a lot on a b18 swap for an early non fuel injected crx (84). How much different is it from the newer crx's. I'd like to put a 90s non vtech integra ls motor in it with a turbo, how hard is this going to be. My brothers 97 integra made 236 whp on 5 psi and I thought a similar motor would be awesome in the little rex. Are there swap kits or parts available other than the hasport mounts. Sites? What will I need for axles and would the tegs tranny work? I know Ill need the ecu from whatever I swap especially because the crx is carb'd. I'm sure this has been done or something similar but I was just hoping to start a new thread about it because I'm very interested. If not this motor, which b series would work best, and whichever one it is I do want to add a turbo. If you guys can help I'd love to start this project asap. Heres a link to the car by the way i was going to sell it but I'm interested in holding on to it... http://www.carsoup.com/used/de...eID=1

Ur car is carbed, your going to have to do a ton of work to convert to fuel injection, just swap in a carbed ZC with the basic mods and you will have a quick little car

Re: (CRX4u2NV)
thanks, but what I'm really looking to do if i keep this car is switch it to one of the efi b motors and turbo it, Im not interested in keeping it carbureted. I'm just asking if this would take a ton of completely custom fabrication/something that would make it completely not possible or if there are parts out there to help me out. I don't want to spend the time and $ to swap a motor that gives me 25 more hp and gives me 15 sec 1/4 mile times.

Re: (540i6)
The car i just sold was a 540 6 speed that ran 13.89 at 103 mph. Im looking to make this car faster than that was and I certainly dont mind spending 6-7 g on getting a nice motor put in if thats what it takes. I also want the car to be a sleeper and so this drivetrain swap and some wheels/tires that will get some traction are about all I really want on it

Swapping a b series motor into that chassis is a mount kit from hasport away. As far as speed wise, the lightweight 84 would be a breeze to make fast, a simple b16 with bolt ons should be able to yeild a high 13 sec 1/4. A 1.8 shouldnt have problems breaking into the 12s and if ur going to boost any of the b series in an 84 CRX with traction anything is possible. RPI (www.rpiracing.com) completed a b16 swap with a custom turbo setup and made 285whp using a head gasket to drop the compression ratio. The owner (bryman) posts on rpr ( http://www.redpepperracing.com, that site is the best site for the 1st gen on the web by far, also rpi has 1000 pics of the car on thier site). It also has AC, ive been in the car and it pulls like crazy, and im guessing it could pull a 12 flat@115ish+)

Its not too bad, they also fitted a whole turbo setup also.

Re: (540i6)
Do the cable trannies mount to the b18b and also i checked out http://www.allmotorhonda.com/t...s.htm and see that 2 of those cable trannies are optional lsd, but if I was looking for one with the lsd and it was optional, how will I know if it is, is there some code after the ys1 or y1 or something?
