1990 CRX Si, Todays Value
Hello everyone, wanted to see what the thoughts where on todays value of the 1990 Honda CRX Si. I have found a complete stock CRX that is in pretty good condition considering it's age. However, the car has over 300,000 miles and the motor has a bad rod bearing. It's a second owner car that has been driven by a older man to go back and forth to work where he drives about 50-60 miles one way. Has everything still with the car that it came with even the floor matts. He will not take no less then $2000 for it. So I know I don't have pictures at this time but does it sound like it's still worth the price he is asking for?

i guess it also depends where you live
where im from no ef is ever worth more than 900 bucks
it dosent matter matter if it has 1000hp and a new paint job its still a ef
in taxas you should be able to get a ef for less than 1000 running and in good shape
just gotta know where to look ^_-

I am having a hard time telling myself to not put a B Series swap in it. I feel though the right thing todo is rebuild the original motor.

Going 4 wheeling in it?
Looks to be in great shape. Obviously, it's your car and do what you want with it, but stock is not nearly as much fun as a good modified rex. Value, schmalue - life is too short. Do the swap!

Just hang onto any OEM parts you swap or mod, and think twice before doing anything that isn't reversible.

Be honest, I really do like the B20 motors pair with a B16 tranny. If I did do a B Series swap then that would most likely be the route I go. Just a straight up easy simple swap for the most part with no shortcuts.

B20 would be fun, but keep in mind it is not a great choice if you ever want to go FI for more power.

Re: 1990 CRX Si, Todays Value
Been racking my brain with what I want to do engine wise but I think I want to keep it stock with some JDM goodies. However, if I run across a DOHC ZC then that might be another story but if I can't then I will rebuild the D16A6.
One thought I am having is if I rebuild the D16 then what kind of pistons could I use to pump the compression up some. Also, what other little things could I do to get a little more horsepower out of the rebuild?

Time to start a build thread! It looks like it needs some good TLC, but appears to be pretty clean and most importantly your lucky enough to be starting with a blank canvas

Well, here it is over a year and I have not done anything to the CR-X. I recently picked up a 1998 Civic Hatchback and have decided that I want to sell the CR-X. So if your interested in the CR-X then let me know as I will entertain reasonable offers. If your looking for a blank canvas to work on then here is your chance at one. I know it needs some TLC but hey, it's all stock and never modified!
