Re: 15 years and counting - Bryces crx build
I picked up a new 2018 Civic Si coupe in galaxy gray. I'll give a full review after I have driven it for a while, but I got it with 3 miles on it and have only driven it 40 miles.
Lasted 4 miles stock
HFP red mats, tossed the +22 TE37's on it (for sale BTW), ordered CTR emblems, lowering springs and tires.

Thanks man! I'm really excited about it. The 10gen civic's handle amazingly, I can't get over it.
I'll have it lowered shortly
Other updates:
-Crx just rotting in my garage waiting for my painter to finally get time to do it. I keep collecting random parts for it.
-Zero has had ZERO progress since I tossed the motor in it.

Wish we got the Si here. Our model lineup is terrible. My partner bought a VTi-LX sedan which is our top spec, it had the 1.5 turbo which was a nice thing but the CVT didn't make any friends and we ended up trading it in 8 months later. Would be keen to see what a bit of extra power would do to it though, certainly handled nice.

Finally got to work on the Zero. Tossed the axels in, Walbro 255, linkage, wired it, 1000cc injectors.
Got it to start even!
Goal is to run it NA at my local drag strip Aug11th
Now that it runs I can finally take it in to get vinyl wrapped.

Re: 15 years and counting - Bryces crx build
Wiring harness is FINALLY in after a 4 month wait.
Some of my brackets came in from powder coating so I tossed them on the motor. I finally found a obd1 GSR oem shell in my box of 100 distributors. Polished that bad boy up then put it on the motor.
Gsr zero is ready for the track!
Finished my list of 20 things left until I race, now shes ready to go. I'm going to do a track day NA to make sure the gamble GSR is healthy, then turbo it.

This is the exact same setup I ran 13.2@101 with the crx. 22inch slicks, 96 spec ITR tranny, but now with tuning, a lighter car, and hopefully a more powerful motor then my stock B16
Really hoping to clip off a 12.99 with this setup if we can get everything dialed in.

Re: 15 years and counting - Bryces crx build
The CRX has officially started getting the body work done. It's having some of the rear quarters done, the lower rockers are getting replaced using the only ones I could find, EF civic ones.
Mirrors will be painted black, along with the door handles.
Today I'm working on turboing the Zero, running into a few issues using parts I have laying around.
Edit: I was going to run the zero NA, but ended up not getting the two track days in Aug I wanted because of a business trip. So I figured what the hell, lets just go for it haha

Update on the Zero:
Ran all the oil lines, tapped the pan, got this **** DP to work, the dump is off the crx build, Dp is causing the rad to be tilted all ghetto. I'll fix this setup as I get more time, but I just want to get it to the strip for now.

Re: 15 years and counting - Bryces crx build
Crx body work is finally coming along. It's getting the POR15 treatment under every panel that is being worked/replaced.
Found a lot of rust under the quater when we cut it out...
POR15
Grinded it clean
patched up
Zero wrap is finalized. Will be installed next week! Car will be racing on the 24th
245/40 Falken RT615k's mounted up on my TE's. They look 10x better then the old stretched 205's from before.
HFP mats, CTR badges installed, trunk tray
Wayyyyyy better.

Nice job on keeping the CRX alive
Body work is such a chore. Mine had some kind of undercoating on it when I got it, not sure if factory or not but it seems to have kept any rust from developing so far.

I can not believe this car has as much rust as it does. The OG owner took amazing care of it, I don't think he ever drove it in the winter. Then the car went to Cali for two years, and then I got it. It has hardly seen rain since I got the car in 2003, but here we are with all this damn rust.
I considered buying a rust free Eg or another CRX to swap all of my stuff over too vs repairing this one, but it is hard not trying to save a 1988 Si, especially given my history with the car.

More CRX bodywork updates! Rockers are finished
No rust in the rockers. I applied POR15 inside of everything before the new ones were welded on.
Should be done with paint next weekend I hope.

The Zero just finally got done being wrapped. It turned out SOOOO good! Office sign company in Fargo ND wrapped it.

Love the design, super high quality up close. I can't wait to race this thing Saturday! The car has come so far from a $300 craigslist rusty pile of junk.
Working on tuning, having issues with my wideband

All butt dyno trying to get it running. I might bring it to the dyno at some point once I feel like the setup is going to stay the same for a while.

Re: 15 years and counting - Bryces crx build
What a day! 95% humidity, 82 degrees. Man did we sweat working on the car! I got a total of 5 passes, 2 tuning passes, then 3 real passes. We logged every pass and kept making changes, by the end the car felt really really good.
Ended up with a 12.6@110, and a 12.7@110 after missing 3rd twice. I can't wait to get this thing back on the track, crank up the boost (7psi all day), then hit some 11's.
Zero next to a few 1000hp imports

Re: 15 years and counting - Bryces crx build
Wouldn't that blow a stock GSR up? We were told at 7psi we were prob making 270-300hp, so I was thinking about pushing it with boost by gear to 12psi max to hopefully stay in the 350hp range.
By the way my gamble $500 JDM GSR long block from craigslist has 225/225/225/225 compression. Somehow has dead on compression in every cylinder. Besides smoking some, it appears to be very healthy!

Bodywork is CLOSE!
Zero is getting some upgrades for the next track day.
Shaved front emblem, and found dents in my brand new OEM hood
