Re: ~*~Targa Top CRX project build
Lowered on Ground Controls + Tokico Illuminas, Panasports (14" racing wheels as opposed to 18" chromez), four flaps, and little touches here and there. If I had more income I could throw a bunch of really cool stuff at it, but I make do with what I have.
With your '88, besides the K20, I'd have a completely gutted interior (no carpet, but floormats), Si door panels (with the pocket), OEM dash and center console (OEM color! not painted) with the JDM armrest and EDM EE8/9 seats. I'd keep the '88 US front, get a first gen DA front lip, slam it on some nice coilovers, get some badass lightweight rims in 14" or 15" wrapped in really nice rubber, and call it a day. The '90...I would take the engine out and send the rest to the crusher. Harsh, I know.
Of course, different strokes for different folks. I got into Hondas because of their racing pedigree, and that's reflected in the way my cars look. Some people like their Hondas for completely different reasons, just ask this guy.

that front end is an absolute ABOMINATION on a crx...now i know why i've never seen it done before...the interior is ridiculous as well...however i do think that the air ride, targa top, and motor should be a more solid foundation for a project to build on but i have no say in it because it is of course yours...just my .02

Re: ~*~Targa Top CRX project build
And here I thought I was just going to see a targa top. lol. Well lets see strangely enough this has some things I definitely admire, some that are odd but still neat, and others well... yeah I wouldn't have done. However instead of just calling it crap, or telling you that your friend "ruined" a crx, or saying that you should be the recipient of some very bad scenarios. I'll just provide some constructive criticism.
Rims - 17"? Personal choice of course but really anything over 16" on any EF chassis just don't seem to fit.
Dash, Interior - I guess it does work for a show car and everything but I would definately like to see the interior pieces wrapped in a similar manner as the original SI interior. Gray vinyl up top and black on the bottom. It would look cool if it paid homage to the original crx. Maybe some carpet too.
Exhaust - Maybe swap it to a dual in dual out muffler with some tips? Or just go to a single inlet dual outlet muffler with some 2" (max) chrome tips? Keep it sounding good and keep the twin setup without the cumulative 8" outlet.
Just some thoughts.

with all that driving you never really know what it might look like now...im not aware of how great the fab work was.
[/QUOTE]
Well the stock roof still fits where it should, so it obviously hasn't sagged noticeably. Pretty unreasonable to just assume that the fabrication is bad, especially seeing how much attention to detail the rest of the car has had to it.

just curious but are those Dc tails ? there not RSX tails , rsx tails have a slanted edge at the end of them(the middle of the hatch end) not str8 down like these and they have two half circles on the bottom so are they just Dc tails ?

If you don't want it I'll take it. Use it just for cruising , low and slow. There's no need to go fast anywhere. I don't mind driving slow at all.

Re: ~*~Targa Top CRX project build
I know this whole thread is people ripping your car apart (and to be honest I didnt read most of it)...but imho you shouldnt run hardlines all the way to those air cylinders. They move a bit as the suspension moves so imho they are going to leak eventually.

Re: ~*~Targa Top CRX project build
It is probably impossible at this point, but I would like to see the car returned to stock with the targa top. The airbags, front end, rear end, chromie wheels and all that I don't like. The style of the car really shows it's age.
At least the previous owner put alot of work and time and dedication into it, so can't be mad at them for that.

Re: ~*~Targa Top CRX project build
I honestly think the car looks like its coming along great. Its nice being able to actually see something different on this site for once, instead of basically the same car, with the same setup all the time. I, myself would not go that extensively into bodywork on a crx but you can tell that it was well done and that is what impresses me( only think is i hope you get that roof latch fixed soon so rain doesn't ruin the interior that you put so much effort into.) Too many on this site are bandwagoners that hop on the newest fad, 10 years from now "jdm" may be looked down upon and wont be the in thing to do. Although I am glad to see that he did get some respect from this site on the work that he has done. I leave this with saying good luck with the rest of your project.

I like how you're open minded. It's good to see you try to finish something that was started. I don't care if it's not a jdm front end like everybody here. Good luck
