Default Steering pump?

My steering pump on a first gen crv is really hard when the car is still or parked. But when I drive it it is really good and no problems. When it is parked it also whines. What can be wrong with it. There are no leaks. How can I repair it by opening it? Thanks

Sounds like you have air in it.If there is air inside that means fluid goes somewhere. If you say there are no leaks check the rack and pinion boots(poke one of them through) and see if they are collecting fluid. If there is no fluid leak and level is good maybe the pump is tired but to check that you will need a special tool(power steering pump pressure tester).

I tried bleeding it but did not help. When the car is parked the steering is hard and is still making a noise "EEEEEEEEEEEE". Is it the bearings. There is flow in the reservior and I can see the fluid moving. I am going to open and examine it.

steering wheel is NOT hard to steering even with air in it. It will make "EEEE" noise but steering effort will be the same. double check the fluid level in reservoir. top it off. I would replace O-ring. Line that goes into power steering pump. I believe they are 2 (10mm) bolts. I've seen couple Honda cars with same problem.
And of course I would double check with all hose clamps to reservoir etc. Let me know after you replace that O-ring. It's cheap. Get it @ local Honda. They usually have it in stock

Try to raise the RPM while the car is parked to 3000 RPM.Does this change an effort in steering wheel? If this doesn't change anything the pump may not develop enough pressure for assistance.

The O-ring at the pressure line is just a seal no? If it is seeping air inside than the air should be in the system.Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes I tried today and I raised the rpm and the steering wheel turned freely and very fast. When I lowered the rpm and took off the pedal the steering wheel became hard as a rock again. What is the problem. It is working very nice with high rpm.

Change the pump. It's worn out and not able to produce sufficient pressure. After installing the new one flush the system very well. You do not want any debris from the old one to ruin the new pump and even rack and pinion.
