Backup lights/clock
Just bought a CRV and noticed 2 things: Back up lights don't light up, and clock goes off and on.
For the lights, I checked the fuse underneath the dash and the bulbs themselves, but they were ok.
The clock goes off and on but I haven't noticed if its related to any other function. I saw once they turned off when I went into reverse, but I tried it a second time and they didn't turn off. They clock lights don't flicker, they turn off for a few seconds and it doesn't happen often. I bought the truck with an aftermarket radio so I'm hoping its not that.
Any chance these two probs are related? Only other idea I have is to test the reverse light connector relay to the transmission. Since I don't have the proper tools I might have to take it in to the mechanic. Thought I'd check with you guys before I did that. Thanks, pX

The clocks are notorious for going bad. You have to pull the clock, take it apart and solder a couple of points on the printed circuit board. I fixed three of them last week to give you an idea of how many of these things don't work. Link to a DIY guide on how to fix -> http://blog.scurker.com/2010/09/hond...2001-clock-fix
Only thing i'll add is use a small screw driver to apply slight pressure to component you're soldering, sometimes as soon as you touch the joint it'll move the component around, use a small 25 watt iron.
The back up lights are probably due to the switch on the shifter.
