Re: 2000 CRV build thread
Decided to take more detailed pics of the spare tire install just in case anybody else wants to try it. I put the jack inside of two Snap On welding helmet bags to keep it from rattling around on the wheel. I put a Snap On torque wrench behind the seatbacks and under the carpet for torquing down the wheels.

Lol. I am a firm believer that a 3" aluminum tube flows exactly the same no matter who makes it as well. But, maybe he got a good deal on a used aem. Some states actually need that carb sticker.

I had to cut the section with the stickers off to make it fit with my existing pipe. I then transferred the AEM label just for ***** and giggles.

Re: 2000 CRV build thread
It's been a while since I posted so I figured I'd update my thread. Not much has gone on with modifications since my funds are low. I did modify the front grille by cutting out the center and installing wire mesh which I spray painted black. I'll post pics of that later. I did have to get my mid pipe replaced because I bent it by backing into a snowbank. I had a muffler shop botch up the job so I have to go back to try to get my money back. I had them eliminate the resonator. Pipe is all crooked and low and rattles all the time. I'll post pics of that once it's all fixed.
Couple of notes on the performance of my V:
It gets amazing gas mileage on the highway. On long distance trips I can squeeze 28 mpg and that's at speeds of 75mph+. I know that I could do better if I drove a lot slower but this is Jersey... nobody does less than 75 on the Parkway.
Around the city I get an average of 20mph with semi aggressive driving so I can't complain about that.
The RT4WD takes some skill to maneuver around corners in snowy/icy conditions. I have to really dig into the throttle at just the right time to get the *** end to come around. Do it to late or not enough and you're eating the curb, As I did a couple of times.
My only real complaint about the car is the transmission (automatic). It slips from time to time under WOT acceleration. Last night it was slipping pretty bad with the OD off around 90-100mph. Yeah, I'm a special kind of crazy, but how could I resist. The engine loved the "arctic" ice cold air and it pulled hard so I had to take it for a top speed run. Which by the way is around 109-110mph and scary as hell might I add.
Anyway, I love my V and I hope to keep it as long as possible. I can't wait to convert it to manual trans, then it will be that much more fun to drive .

Re: 2000 CRV build thread
I recently acquired 17" Konig Subzero white set of wheels. They fit the CRV perfectly without spacers, but I just don't like the way they look. I'm putting them up for sale/trade. I'm looking to get $400 or $150 and a set of AP1 wheels or $200 and a set of 5th gen Prelude 16 inch blades wheels. Make me the best offer!

Re: 2000 CRV build thread
Welp, I f#cked up .
I lost control in the snow yesterday while making a left hand turn.
The car slid straight, I tried to correct it with throttle steer, gave too much throttle too late, over steered and here is the result:
Railed the curb so hard that I bent and cracked my rim. I sometimes hate the RT4WD because it doesn't split the power equally like a true AWD. It still drives like a FWD. Lesson learned... Hopefully the tire is salvageable. Good thing I have the original spare still. Just put it on in the freezing cold. Brrr

Re: 2000 CRV build thread
The real mistake was mounting those rims/tires in the middle of winter. Oh well...
Always use a steel rim in the winter. Sure, looks like crap, but they can take a good beating. Nice car tho!
