Re: zex cam question (dynamicauto)
to the best of my knowlage no, as i can't remember any on mine. btw nice choice, mine is great and has been running fine on stock springs and retainers for like 3k miles. make sure that there are no chips in it or anything and not sure about a used cam but i would break it in anyways(like 300 miles of no red line trips, keep it as low as possiable).
and for reference its a Comp Cams model number 59300.

Re: (dynamicauto)
hold on a sec i will go look at the box, and my stock cam. be right back for ya!
on my STOCK cam the only markings on the cam is a code printed on the distributor side of the cam, the code is D324 , or something similar to that(yaya bad short term memory). do you see any markings at all on the cam? if you have some precise measuring tools than you can measure the lobes and compare them to mine.

my 59100 said 59100 on it etched in and the profiling was different than the stock camshaft by a little. u should definitely be able to tell tha the camshaft is legit when u drive the car though. i could tell with my stage one cam, so if yours is really a stage two u will know.

Re: (SOHC_MShue)
hey dynamic this is chris. i sold you the cam. i swear on everything that the cam is real and have MANY people that can back that up. as a matter of fact i bought the p&p'ed head from the guy on MRS and it was supposed to have a 59300 cam in it. turns out the cam was a 59100 and it is etched in the same sloppy way on the end. i called zex and they told me that is how they mark the cams and it is the only way to tell which one it is.

ya its recommended but not entirely necessary, as i stated before i have been running on stock valvetrain for about 3000 miles, but everyones valvetrain might be different.

the real reason to upgrade the valvetrain is so you can rev higher... ive always heard the 59300 will work fine on stock springs and stock rev limiter.
