is your engine harness the dual poit injection. how many valve was your old engine? if you have the dual point injection then you are gonna have to get a custom harness and run a LS ecu or something

You're gonna wanna make sure you harness is CORRECT, another words since you have a DX/STD model which the 88-91's were. You're better off sending it to rywire.com and having them straighten it out for you and then get it back and follow easy install intructions. If you did it yourself or has someone else mess with it, then it might not have a injector hooked up correctly in the right spot, hence the bogging, or the tps is still backwards and has not been switched. All in all it's pretty touchy and if you don't have something cleaned, installed correctly, and the way it is suppose to be, but if i took a look at it i could probally figure it out right away for you most likely cause i use to have a 90 STD hatch and had to mode the harness to get my d16a6 to run right in it.

Wait a second, hold on....are you using a MPFI manifold, or a DPFI manifold?, if you using you're STOCK manifold WITH stock harness of you're old motor in the SAME car then their should be NO problem. If you using a differen't manifold, like the one that could have possible came with the sohc zc motor, or someone touched you're harness and modified it somehow, then their is you're problem.

MPFI=Multi point/port fuel injection. This manifold uses 4 injectors with the motor.

DPFI= Dual point/port fuel injection. This manifold uses 2 injectors with the motor.

Did you put it in the car and the new swap runs like ****, or are you talking about the old motor ran like **** and you have not dropped this new swap in yet?.

Uh huh, so what was technically wrong with you're old motor.

my old motor was blowing blue smoke like crazy...its was on its last leg...dying quickly (350000km) so i picked up a single cam zc motor from jap auto parts.. and they said it has been sitting for a while but is still great... and it bogs and revs high and low and wont sit at idle...

Sounds like a idle problem, make sure you bleed off all the air out of the cooling system, make sure you're tps is adjusted correctly and don't have the wires switched the wrong way since the car you have from my understanding is a dx/std model which was originally DPFI. Bad coil pack or distributor could also cause that you know, unless you just have the wires switched wrong at the dizzy plug.
