Re: yellow head lights.... illegal? (Jay-Dee-Em)
I think that's a good question, I saw a car yesterday on I-15 with yellow lights and the state trooper didn't pull him over or do anything. Headlights not foglights but, I thought they were illegal.

my friend put them on his accord, im in NC
according to him they are legal,
#1 they arent red
#2 they arent blue
#3 they put out enough light to see
#4 they dont hurt others eyes any more/or less than regular white
#5 supposedly they dont reflect off rain/fog as much so you see better when its rainy or foggy (i have yet to see this proven, it hasnt rained)

I know for a fact that yellow (amber) lights are wonderful in rain, fog and snow only used them at the fog light position-not sure if that's the reason-they work great for visibility and that's from driving cross country in every season of year in all types of weather.

Yeah, I rocked yellow headlights for like three months here in TN, and never got pulled. Then again, we don't have inspections and cops are slack around my house.

DMV has a book with all the vehicle codes in it but, here in CA they all say they don't have anymore. Check if you can find one it should help you out especially with the nonsense the cops try to catch you on when they pull you over.

Re: (JDM_Ej)
I always thought the yellowish bulbs looked pretty good. Maybe I'm a ricer :\
You just can't beat yellow lights in the snow, rain, or fog though. Thats what sold me on them.

well i have never heard of the line, if it doesnt come stock its not legal, BECAUSE i dont see domestics getting pulled over for thier loud exhausts??..which is all customized and not even near stock , plus 5 times louder than our ricer cars!!! GHEY!!! honestly, i hate to say it but its called "PROFILE" I live in MN, st paul to be exact and I know what "profile" is. In St Paul, only racers get pulled over for some dumb Excuse, while in Minneapolis the black folks gets harassed. Well i am sure you get my drift here
Cops HATE ricers to tell you the truth, we soo call make the streets "unsafe" so there for they will find every excuse to slap you a ticket!!! I am sure that they are "legal" as of now, and as said before, the book doesn't have anything saying about "yellow Bulbs" as being illegal! So, go to court and settle it, next time you get pulled over, ask the cop to prove you that they are illegal!
One more thing, stock lights on most cars look yellow anyway, almost the same Hue as those, so whats the difference! So i think he was just picking on you! I have a HID Kit on my EJ8, for about 4 months now, only 1 cop has pulled me over, and guess what, my Kit was Legal..hhahaha..rub it in his GHEY face!! I hate cops!!

In California, white or yellow headlights are legal. Confirmed in my California Vehicle Code book.
