ive searched around a bit and I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for so I'm asking here. I have done a swap on my 97 civic lx, installed a d16y8 it came with a wiring harness and figured out that the harness is an automatic harness, I have the ex manual ecu so what I'm asking is do I need to change the iacv plug? Do I need to change the wiring for the park safety switch? Or wire up for the reverse lights? All I find is for the auto to manual swap stuff. Or am I just overthinking this stuff

Yes you need to change IACV plug and also move the two wires at the ECU, as the IACV drive comes out of different pins on the manual ECU. If car was originally manual the starter clutch interlock is all under the dash so no need to change anything there. You will need to add wires for the reverse lights from the switch on the transmission to the underhood harness. That wiring would be in place in a manual engine harness just look at your old LX one.

Are you sure the engine isn't an automatic either? If so you'll have to get a manual intake manifold as well as the IACV is on the manual manifold itself.

Yes the engine is from an auto. Ok just change the iacv and the ecu pin, plus the reverse lights. I didn't even think about the intake manifold! Thanks for the direct answers! Sometimes I do so much reading on stuff I tend to confuse myself lol
