Default y7/y8 minime timing problem... searched, trial and error. please help

breifing:
its a 93 delsol with a 96 d16y7 block stock internals, and a 96 d16y8 head stock internals. i cant get the timing right to save my life.
im using a d16z6 timing belt and i dont have ANY of the timing covers. the crank pulley bolt will not break for anything and i know these things are just a pain in the *** ive broken loose atleast 10 different ones. ive read all the timing posts, the y7 mini me posts and stuff like that. searched for mini-me, minime, y7 minime, d16y7 minime, timing, how to time, 16 BTDC, SOHC timing, D16y7 stock timing, and read all the timing stuff i can including the timing belt replacement topic by poison i believe and all the minime stuff.

questions:
is their anyone out there that knows of some way to set the engine to TDC with out removing the crankpulley (since i cant)... or without using the timing covers.

ive even tried setting it by the crank sprocket using a mirror to line the knotch up with the oil pumps arrow but i cant even get that right.

i need to know do i set the car to TDC then adjust it to 16 BDTC after i get it running or do i set it to 16BTDC from the beginning.

nope, the only way to do it is to look at the cam gear and the crank pointer behind the crank pulley (or atleast thats how i did it). to get the crank pulley off, try heating up the crank pulley nut with a torch. it works a lot easier that way. and if you have your flywheel still in. use something to hold the flywheel like a big *** screw driver or a flywheel holder that they make. goodluck, its a PITA.
