XTD clutch and flywheel.

Re: XTD clutch and flywheel. (DaveSi677)
XTD is a brand sold on ebay by gripforce or aimco I believe. The clutch/FW combo sells for like 250 plus shipping.
Does this clutch compare as well to Exedy, ACT, etc? Stock/modified or both.

I am curious as well. I just got a 99 SI with 107,000 miles on original clutch. Other that replacing it with another stock clutch, is that XTD a good choice........
Come on guys, someone has to have this on their car!

Holmes, get an Oem clutch. If yours has gone I'd lighten the flywheel and get a slight step-up from stock for the clutch. Unless you have 400whp, stay away from the stage III

I have the Stage 1 XTD in my car and it slips like hell and I have less than 1500 miles on it. If i were you, I would save up enough money to get an Exedy combo.

Re: XTD clutch and flywheel. (Jarfal)
I just put an Exedy Stage III clutch and 8.5 lb flywheel on my mostly stock civic and have alot of chatter from it being so stout. If you dont want to have that in your car, i would suggest not going with anything more than a stage 1 clutch. If i had it to do all over again thats what i would have done. (just my personal opinion)

I too have an exedy stage (ebay item)1. And I hate this damn thing! It slips hella worse than my OEM stock and the petal play is softer than the OEM. I'm going to try another brand next time around.... Like: CenterForce, ACT, or otherwise...

i had the six puck sprung combo in my mr2 before and it worked pretty good. it was pretty grabby. i only drove the car for about 4k miles on it with the new engine in it, had to sell it due to school. you can always try it since its pretty cheap, thats just me tho cause i rather find out first hand.

i got the stage 3 becasue im going turbo D hopefully 300+.

Re: XTD clutch and flywheel. (EX-T)
i dont know how XTD clutches are for hondas. but in my buddies 240 (KA-T 7lbs), after 100 or so miles the stage 1 XTD clutch started slipping and just failed and went no where. i would steer clear of XTD clutches
on a side note. i have had a clutchmasters Stage 3 clutch on my b18b1 motor spraying the occassional 75 shot at the motor for about five years now and the clutch has not yet failed to send pieces of my dash at me everytime i shift hard. great clutch

for the amount of power you are putting it is really over kill to go over Stage 1.
I would get the Stage 1 from either Exedy or ACT. Don't buy **** do it right the first time.

Im running an XTD stage 3 in my hatch.
On spray my car makes 277whp 251 wtrq.
I also autocrossed on the XTD all summer.
Never had a single problem.
I also have 3 friends with XTD stage 2 and none of them have any complaints.
For $150, you really cant go wrong.
