wtf is this sensor? found on obd1 b16 head

Know i have ruled this out as a knock sensor because i know what they look like. Does anyone have an idea of what this is?

coolant temp, side of the head, near the h2o port

Looks like the ect sensor that is on the bottom of the head under the vtec solenoid.
