Here we go folks...Just got a valve job/timing belt/head gasket/new head stud swap done...installed MSD Coil/cap/wires and NGK plugs on a B18C1 Block/B16 Head combo...everything is in order except a crappy idle...it sounds almost like it is missing and even when we flutter the go-pedal it seems like it's hesitating--all 4 wires and plugs are sparking, fuel injectors are firing and everything is in time--unplugged the MAP and accidentally left it unplugged while we ran the car and the idle smoothed out considerably (but not completely normal)

getting ready to do voltage checks on TPS and MAP just wondering if I'm barking up the wrong tree... if the MAP is bad could my symptoms be related or is it another problem?

if this is my problem anyone have a MAP for sale?

Make sure you didn't mix up the plugs with the map and tps

Ohh...Uhh...

It sounds like a map sensor problem. I swapped an engine once and the map sensor no longer worked. The guy at the dealer said it was common. Go buy the map at a wrecking yard, its much cheaper.

If this iosn't it, look into a new MAP sensor.

believe it or not the MAP sensor o-ring is MIA ( we triple checked it when we put it all back together!) just goes to show you how one stoopid little thing can cause a massive headache--also we figured out that a mild exhaust leak wasn't helping anything (new gaskets solved that one--getting ready to test drive and hit the car wash!! will post pics if all works out-----thanks a bunch guys its much appreciated!
