i purchased the si from carmax, i have 5 day garentee warranty, when i pulled it home last ngiht, the hood and front bumper were a shade darker with a more purple tint, yet in the daylight you cant tell a difference. at ngiht it was pretty clear though. i think the guy before me who sold his car to carmax, paitined the front hood and front bumper to cover the rock chips and he went the cheapest way he could. these are my options i can:

A: return the car get full pay back and order another from tampa that is 2k$ more but with less miles.

B: keep the car, its at 50k miles, and just paint the hood and front bumperthe right way and right color.

C: maybe keep his car and not worry about the paint because its prolly just the lighting.

any other otions you can come up im free to anything.

you sure it wasn't the lighting playing tricks on you? if you can't tell in the daylight....what is the problem?

thanks for your response im so afraid i amde a mistake with this car because of this, but in daylight it is almost impossable to tell, at night however it is pretty clear, like if you look at the fender and then the hood and front bumper from the side you can 90% tell its a darker shade. its ebp and the hood and front almost look supersonic.

I think you may be trying too hard to find fault with it maybe. I dunno, but if you really want to find out take it to a paint match specialist and have them check it out.

well im pretty sure the hood was repainted before he sold it because there are no chips not one on the front and front bumper yet there are some on the side mirrors. so if this is a brand new paint is it just a tad darker because it mgiht have JUST been painted? at night im serious you can tell two different colors one is alittle more purple. is this a huge thing though? if you were me would u jsut keep it. when i get home ill post pics.
i bought the car in seriously good condition other that. there is only one ding it is on the hood. it ahs 50k miels on it, its a 2000. i paid 14,900 for it.

its all stock, no dings or marks, just one small ding on the hood. this also is a 2000 with 50kmiles, thats alot for a 2000. and with this repaint on the hood i am afraid that this guy did it jsut to cover up the chips to make a more presentable sale, and im afraid he went the cheapest way to cover them up. from looking at the side of the car you can obviously tell is has two colors, at night time, when the light shines on it. you can some what tell in the daytime if u look like close close. what would you do?

what would u do, should i return the thing and order the one from tampa that cost 2k more and has only 17k miles, minus the spoiler. and 3 samll scratches on the tip of the hood.

You should check out bishop's Si. He's only got 23,000 miles and it's a 2000. He has some nice mods too. The car is black though, if that matters. He is in Arkansas too.

you should be very happy with your purchase
your not
therefore return it and get what you want from the beginning
remember its a 2000 should be in great condition not ok and
you shouldn't invest your money on paint as your first mod

Return the one you have, 50k miles in almost 2 years is insane. Get the other one for 2K more, less miles is always a good bet. Who cares about the spoiler, and if the hood is that big of a concern, just get a carbon fiber one. Just my opinion.

do what makes you happy...you are the only one that will be pissed off if you make the wrong choice. It does not sound like you are happy with the car. It does have a lot of miles for a 2000. As soon as you doubt it you are fucked. If you will be happier spending 2k more than get the new one.

if you don't and the paint is fucked up (hard to mach some colours after sun exposer) you will be pissed and to get a good paint job you will be spending at least 1k and nothing will last like the original paint.

don't listen to anybody but yourself....do what makes you happy and what you won't regret...it is a new car and has to be around for a while

u will never mach the paint exactly if ur are spraying only a fender or hood to the rest of the car. thats the bitch about pearl paints!!

i say if the car is still in good shape then keep it. try and see if you can get some money back and use that torwards new or used bumper and hood that is already painted from the factory.

ok this is whats up. i returned it. i ordered the one in tampa, i dont ahve to buy it. there just shipping it up here so i can take a look at it, they did a very thorough check, they said no dings or sctaches just a few minor rock chips in the front. the thing is, si it has those fog lights on the oem kit. im nto a fan of those, can they be removed with no hassle?
as for bishop if you still have your car, if this deal doesnt come through as planned, then i willl be looking foward to taking interest into your car.

when honda installs the factory fog lights, they have to cut out a good portion of the bumper to get the actual light in place, so if you take them off you will prob have some shitty looking holes there....

go to carmax.com the stock number is 1134661, that is the car i had. it only has one picture though, but anyway i really need to know a correct way to remove the foglights, if there is a way, i cant stnad them it looks a whole lot cleaner without them.

Take it to a reputable body shop, they can tell you whether or not the car's been repainted (and where)...
