This happened yesturday (Wed) on my way home from work. I was coming upon an intersection and the light turned yellow. Some shuttle bus turned left in front of me so he didn't have to wait for another light. There was car behind him waiting to turn left too and he didn't bother to wait to see if anyone was coming and just followed him. I slammed right into the jackass head on at 30-40 mph.

No one got hurt bad. Some how I didn't get burned by the air bag or get black eyes. My knees broke the dash and they are swollen. I got some good pain pills to take care of that.

I had the right of way, but of course the guy lies and says he had a green arrow even through that would happen at the beginning of the light, not the end. He could not have seen **** since he was behind a big shuttle bus to see what the light was. His son was driving the shuttle bus and he was following him. He had no proof of insurance either. I have to wait up to ten days to get a copy of the police report to even see if he has insurance to make a claim on it. Every time I call his house his wife says he is not there. I'll probably have to pay him a visit this weekend, the bastard. So I'll be fucked for a few weeks at least before I get any idea of the $ I'll get to buy a new car.

Has anyone had experience with crap like this? I have a lot of reciepts for the stuff I did to my car so I guess I will get the money for that but don't know about the stuff I don't have reciepts for. I hope I'll be able to strip off all the parts I can before my car gets taken to the junkyard. I'll probably have some stuff for sale in a few weeks unless I get another civic or integra.

hi sorry to hear that car looked good, i dont normaly like body kits but your car had it going on pretty well..with your insurance my friend got hit by a lady that was uninsured, went to court to find out he had to file a case on the side to get the money. Its been about 4 or 5 months since the accident and he hasnt seen a dime..With the aftermarket parts i dont know if they will pay for them even if you have the recipts because when i went to get insurance on my honda i asked about if they will pay me for the rims and **** and they said no they just pay for the car to be returned to stock form nothing more even if i had a recipt but maybe my company is diff. Good luck let me know what happens

glad you are ok, this is when having a real insurance company and not a cut rate one comes in handy, when my car got stolen i faxed liberty mutual all my receipts for in dash tv/ 17s (ricer days) and all the misc stuff I had, and they payed for all of it, keep a log of everything that happens and prepared to go to court.... goodluck and all that matters is you are ok man, **** can be replaced

The insurance will only pay you blue book value for your car. Go to a small claims court (district) and file a separate law suit for negligence (read up on some laws or call up a favor), damage to private property, ext. That will probably be your only shot at getting anything back. And, be sure to be prepared when going to court if you do decided to do this; bring in recipts, police report (very important), credit card charges ext. Make sure you do all the math before hand and have everything organized and accounted for(don't sue for stuff you don't have evidence of). Your the plaintiff so you have to prove your case. Oh and remember what you wrote in the initial complain too, keep a copy or something. good luck

Thanks for the support. The beer box was the other guys. It was empty and he used it to put his stuff into. I looked into it.

ouch... as stated before, this is when having a good insurance company comes into play. i work for state farm and *most* of the time things turn out as you would want them to. best of luck.
