...Wtf is with this recent influx of amazingly broad and poorly defined topics?
No, not important at all, hot air makes the car run faster because it's thinner, route your intake pipe directly in front of the manifold for maximum gains. That's why the turbo goes on that side.

Re: WRAPING HEADERS
thats how you pack more oxygen into air for combustion right? by making it hotter and thinner so that there is less of it... I wouldn't have posted if I knew I was asking jerks.
I am doing work on an 04 Acura TSX. I am going to be putting headers on, and I was thinking about wraping them. Apparently that will hold moisture and create rusting and cracking. I could put high heat paint on it to seal it from moisture. I'm sure that the oe heat shield will still fit, but I've got it in my head that I want that heat shield off my car. Or maybe I could just leave no heat protection at all since the intake is pulling air from outside the engine bay. I was going to ask questions one at a time time get an idea of what is ok.

You'll be fine with no heat shield unless you're pushing a lot of power or road racing the car.
Do not do what I listed above. You want cold, dense air.

It's the stupid popup window in the bottom right, that's like "Got a problem, just ask here!" that looks like people treat as mix of search/support chat window, when it really just creates a new post.

Good call. I normally try to keep some level of tolerance towards these things, and try to remember what it's like from an outsider looking in, but there's been a shitton of topics like this the last few days.

Agreed. Mods should really consider removing that or at least making it more clear that it's just a quick thread starter tool.

FYI - Moderators don't have anything to do with the ask a question box.
