Default Would you do it?! Trade my eg for a sol. Legit question

I'm still debating whether or not I should trade my car. I think if I do it, I'll end kicking myself in the ***... which I did when I traded for my current hatch but its almost to the point of where I want it. I had a samba Del Sol before this hatch and I really miss it and this one below is close as I could find to a clean one.

My car is a 94' Civic Cx with a jdm b16 but the trans is junk and has no 5th and I really have no money to fix it right now. It also needs a clutch. I also get 20 MPG!!!!!!!!! WTF.

His car is a 93' Del Sol Si. Claimed it has been recently repainted stock captiva blue, but idk. I haven't seen it in person but I'm meeting him tomorrow in Columbus(2 hours away with no 5th gear sucks!) His has a mini me swap and said the interior is complete. Has cruise control still and 140k on the clock.

My question is... would you trade? I'm just worried I won't come out on top if I wanted to sell or trade again. I know I'm trading a b for a d but I really am not worried about speed. I just want 5th gear and good gas mileage from a nice car lol. I was thinking boost the d with low boost.

I'd do it, but you should at least keep your wheels

Well, maybe they're deceiving, but the pictures kind of show his car looking like garbage and yours looking nice. His is obviously dirty though. If that car looks good in person and everything works, I would probably do it, sounds like your car has some serious issues and I like Del Sols more than EGs. I second trying to keep your wheels though.

NO WAY! Keep your car. Just fix the 5th gear. Here is a thread on fully rebuilding your tranny. Do this and sort out the mileage issue.

A new LS tranny with new clutch package is under 400 easily and your talkng about triple that to boost the del sol....

I personally hate your color hatch and i have always wanted a sol so i would probably trade him anyways. Keep your wheels though and any other goodies.

Listen to your inner gut feeling. I wouldn't do it. You have a clean EG Hatch. Just save a bit of money and get the tranny problems fixed, won't be that bad if you do it yourself and theres quite a few DIY articles on rebuilding trannys, etc.

But if you feel your gonna kick yourself in the *** now, before its even done..I really think you will be unhappy with your decision and yourself if you trade for that Sol.

i wouldn't do it. you obviously have NOT done it for a reason. you've got a clean car, and you know everything you need to about it. you know what works and what doesn't, so why risk the chance of getting something you don't know anything about. there could be numerous things wrong, and probably are if he wants to trade you.. i'd keep the eg, however, if you're that into the sol, ask if you could just trade keys for a couple days.. i wouldn't drive it so much as to check out every little thing.. worth a shot

And your getting shitty gas mileage because your driving around in 4th gear with a b16 tranny! lol.

Indeed, God gave us that gut instinct for a reason. Anytime I have ever done the opposite of what it told me, I was unhappy and regretful.

Its most likely a no anyway because the title is already signed over to him on the back so he needs to get it titled in his name on the front of the title.

And I was going to keep my wheels anyway. And btw I'm not lazy, I don't have any MONEY to fix the trans. I built this car from the ground up including paint and body work but.... I'm lazy somehow hmmmmm.

If there weren't so many broke asses in Cincy and they had something decent to trade me, then I wouldn't of even asked.

ur eg is pretty clean and simple. I wouldnt trade unless you are truely trying to revive the del sol car. But I also seen super clean looking del sols too.. Honestly I would rather break my neck for a super clean del sol then a super clean eg just because I dont see many clean del sols and if its clean, then the owner of the del sol must have put alot of work to make it look good which I give credit when it is due.

I would honestly trade my ej6 for this super clean gold del sol.

if i was to do it id do shell for shell id keep your wheels and swap and what ever other goodies you have and while the swap is out get 5th fixed and do the clutch.... i personally have a eg hatch with a ITR swap and complete color change i mean i did everything from ground up i did everything except for putting it on a rotesary and getting it sand blasted..... but like i said if it were me id just do shell for shell cause i like cars and colors you dont see all the time thats also why i haver a 4dr teg with a jdm front clip... just my opinion.... but good luck what every route you take

(Don't really care for speed anymore, immaturity is over with) I really just want something clean and somewhat rare. There are so many teal hatches that run around here.

The dude said he'd drive to me, what more could I ask for lol.

Here is my old Samba green Del Sol and this is why I want the captiva one. I was so attached to that car but... **** happens and I traded it.

It now serves as a trash box to the current owner

do what ya want bro. it's up to you. i feel for the del sol, but if you're only reason for wanting to get rid of the hatch is because you can't afford to fix it, you never know how much money you'll have to put into the sol.. so is it really worth it?

I personally think the del sol will be a good trade if you keep the B16 and the wheels.

I like yr hatch, its clean, but do what you like!

I'll admit it the del sol has a nicer color sorry!

I got a Coupe the same color as yours and want to repaint it
