Would a J35 engine fit in an EM1?
heyy so i know j swaps arent very common so i wanna do one and be out side the box. now i mean i could buy a j32a for 3500 off hmotors which is legit which is also full swap.. i still need mounts and etc. but i am wondering could i fit a j35 in there? i am thinking it is probally the same size motor just diff. bore and stroke. tell me ur input and if anyone has any knowledge of a j sway in a ek and what are the complications it would be helpful before i go out buying stuff thanks.

Re: j swap into em1
Where to start..
Jswaps are very uncommon and for a good reason. It is one of the most complicated and difficult to do swaps. The engine is HUGE compared to your current engine. It's a V6 for crying out loud. I think you're in way over your head. To get started you should really look in the hybrid forum for some info on Jswaps.
Most J swaps have the hoods cut out because the hood wont close with that massive engine in there. At the point where you have to fabricate parts for your engine swap you shouldn't be worried at what will fit your car. An LS1 engine from a corvette will fit your car too.

j35= 3.5 liter, j32=3.2 liter. in all honesty though, it seems like your just pissing in the wind but if you actually do go through with the swap make a build thread.

Agreed, Haters hate its the way of the world, go hard and get a J37! lmao. Ever seen the Spoon J35 TSX? Made like 320hp at the crank I think? If your pockets are deep enough go for it, it'll fit

Any J motor or any motor in general will work. However, you will have hood clearance issues, ground clearance issues, legal to drive issues, and especially emission sensor issues. The hard part is finding the parts such as the Type S manual transmission...

That integra is so getto
- no hood
- shifter looks like crap
- center console looks like crap
- Cluster hanging, no trim
- swap is expensive, and for what what?
For as much as i love Honda's, which is a lot, i would never waste time and effort to do that swap into an Integra or Civic....you want something faster, but a different car
Hell, you could buy a stock B18B LS swap and boost it with a quality turbo kit, and it would kill that integra

Its just the fact of you being able to say, "I own a J swapped Civic/Teg". I personally would not waste my time with the swap either, but if there was one at a Honda-Tech meet I would be the first one taking pictures.

i personally would love to have a j series civic. and as long as you dont live in an area that deq is super **** i think i might have a way to make the wiring a lot less of a hasal. and the j35s do not have anymore wiring than a j32. trust me i have i have a j30 a j32 and a j35 in my shop rite now and one is in a rail

Plenty of pics of J-series swaps here:

Btw, the Civette wasn't so much an engine swap as a shell swap. Corvette with the exterior cut off with the exterior of a Civic hatch placed over it. I'd hate to know how that would react in a wreck.

Re: Would a J35 engine fit in an EM1?
The J series motors started out having major fitment issues, but newer mounts have come out that allow the motor to fit under a hood...at the cost of ground clearance. That can be dealt with, K24s have the same issue with ground clearance.
I actually looked into this a little, and a J swap compared to a K swap is kinda like a H swap compared to a B swap. Bigger, a little heavier, some fitment issues, but it can be cheaper since it's not as desirable due to ease of installation, and it's more powerful. Wiring isn't much harder.

dude, just saying, I think you're in over your head. The questions you've asked are questions easily found. I don't know you or who you are but I would say do a smaller, easier swap first. otherwise, good luck with it man.

Every time I see one of these "can I swap this into this" threads I figure the OP probably will not do the swap. If they were going to do it they would find their own answer.
Usually if the swap is going to happen the OP doesn't have to ask about how to swap it in or if it's even possible.
