Would an aem cold air setup fit on an eg civic with a type r motor? thanks
ive seen a lot of good things said about aem cold air. so i would like to try one out. i dont know which one to get first of all , since all advertisments say are 97-01 , is it the same for the jdm 96 r. im pretty sure it is, i just dont want to make a mistake. i would like to know if it would fit in my 95 eg civic where the cold air goes to the fender. does it clear the hole or no? if uve looked into the bay, u know what im talking about. thanks for any info.

First and foremost, SEARCH the topic before you post...
And the answer is yes. The AEM ITR intake will work with little modification...

Yes my Brother has a Type R Aem cold air intake on his car. But you don't use that hole anymore. Goes down beside the radiator now. Looks good and is not in the way. Serves it function just fine. And in fact leaves more room to mount whatever else over behind the headlight.

An AEM cold air for an integra wont go through that hole.
Only intakes made for the civic will.

If you want to use the hole, get a sohc aem.
Be aware that the itr aem is 3" and the sohc one is not.
If you use the itr aem, there is NO way to use the hole.
My itr aem fit my civic with no modifications at all. The only thing that didnt line up was the bolt that screws into the subframe. I chose not to use that bolt, cause the intake sat in there nice and tight anyway.

I dont have any pics downloaded, but if you do a search, you can probably find some pics.
It goes the same place on the civic as it does on the integra.

If you want to use the hole, and you still want the best performance, get a '99-'00 Si AEM CAI. It is what I have on my car, and it fits just fine. It is also 2.5" so it is better than a SOHC one, but not as good as the ITR one which I will be purchasing soon. Here is a pic of my Si AEM CAI on my LS/VTEC:
